BIO

Natalia Hatzopoulou, also known as Natalia Hatz, was born on August 3, 2000, in Greece. She is an emerging composer as well as a classically trained cellist and pianist.

She began composition from a young age and has won numerous awards ever since, (#1 Winner in the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition 2022 among others.)

Notable collaborations include her work with director Peter Horgan in the soundtrack for short films:
Chooch (2025), Ready to Die (2019) and his feature film How to Rob (2022).

She made music for animation
SAFO (2026), El Salto de la Rana (2026) and video games Elysian Siege (2025)

Her concert works have been performed by youth and professional ensembles around the world: Three Dragons (2020), Forest Quartet (2021), Odyssey (2022), Iris (2025) etc.

In 2023, she graduated from the NKUA in Music Studies (Specialisation in Music Technology) with High Honors. 

She received her M.M in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games from Berklee College of Music (Valencia) in 2025.

  • SCREEN COMPOSER ACADEMY - Assistantship, Glyfada, Greece 2023

  • Odyssey (2022) - Commission for the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony CSYSA to be premiered during their 2022 Greece tour. The piece was performed in 12th of June at the Theatre of Rematia in collaboration with the Underground Youth Orchestra.

  • How to Rob (2022) - Music for the independent feature film directed by Peter Horgan

  • Ready to Die (2019) - Music for the independent short film directed by Peter Horgan

  • First Prize Composition Award, Aigio Music Festival 2023, for her composition Celestial Images (for oboe and piano)

  • Grand Prize Winner of UK International Music Competition (2022 Season 2) & First Prize Winner in Advanced Category (Age 18-22) for her orchestral composition Odyssey

  • Grand Prize Winner in the Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition in 2022

  • TOP 10 Finalists in Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition in 2020 and 2019. 

  • TOP 5 Finalists in the Tenth Fidelio Piano Composition Competition 2019 ( Category 3. Minimal- Experimental- New Age ) for her original piano composition Echo

 

  • ​1st RUNNER UP in the Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Contest –USA (Youth Category) in 2017.

 

  • 1st Prize Composition Award from X.O.N (Youth Choir & Orchestra Panhellenic Competition) for the original piano composition “Silence” in 2015.

 

  • 3rd Prize Composition Award from X.O.N (Youth Choir & Orchestra Panhellenic Competition) for the original composition for piano and cello Transition in 2015.
